Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette Lazzara on February 28 1948) is an American performer and actress as well as a children's author who hails born in Ozone Park Queens New York . In a five-decade career performing on stage, she's appeared on stage and in the theatre and also in solo performances as well as recorded recordings.
